TP600 not booting after CPU swap

Just swapped in a p2 400mhz. Got everything put back in place and turned it on. The lights come up, the fan comes on, the drive spins, monitor backlight turns on but nothing ever comes on screen. (Positive it's not still my LCD ribbon issue, I booted up prior to the swap to make sure) Switched back to the old processor and the same thing occurs. I'm not familiar with TP CPU swaps, is there anything special I need to do following swapping them? My exp is with Macs were there are few things one should do.

When I upgraded my 600 with a PII 366 it was plug & play. There was nothing to configure. The bios immediately recognized the new cpu and it booted right up.
You might try taking it apart again and just recheck that the cpu card and the video connections are tight.
If you are seeing the same problem with the old and new cpu then I would suspect the problem is still related to the video cable or connections.

Looks like there is something else wrong with that LCD ribbon. Thought I had a temporary fix. I guess I am going to have to just replace it. Using a monitor I did discover it will boot. I do however get an error 301 and 8611. I haven't played with this laptop for awhile. I assume those are the keyboard errors that should disappear when my replacement arrives, yes?
So there isn't thing I need or is recommended to do after replacing a cpu?

Yes,keyboard and/or trackpoint errors...
A 'new' CPU just plugs in and thats it.. I have replaced many,there's been a few times I had to re-seat the new CPU,I just took it out and plgged it back in and it worked the 2nd,or 3rd time..But nothing else is needed,no tweeks,etc...
