Car charger for 600E

I'm hoping to get myself a car charger for my Thinkpad 600E and am hoping for some help choosing a suitable adaptor...

My 600E mains adaptor outputs 16volts, 4.5amps (that's 72watts by my calculations).

I've found a cheap adaptor on Ebay and it says that it's specs are:
Output: 15-24VDC 70W Max., 3940 mA @ 16volts.

And listed in the laptops supported by the adaptor is model 600.
No mention of 600E.

Is this adaptor likely to be ok with my 600E?
Or does the 600 have a slightly smaller power requirement and therefore the adaptor is not compatible with my 600E?

Thanks.

The 600 and the 600e have the same power requirements, to my knowledge.

Most companies refer to the 600, the 600E and the 600X blanketly as the "600".

Thanks for the quick reply.

Do you think the car adaptor not outputting quite as much power as the mains adaptor would (or wouldn't) be a problem?

0.5amps - half an amp - presumably i'd just find charging with the car adaptor slightly slower than charging with the mains adaptor...

You should be fine. The 72W adapter that you are using is more than what came with the 600E in the first place. The 600E originally came with a 56W adapter. (16V, 3.6A)
