HD roulette - now no bootup

#1 Post by jsuebersax » Sat Jun 10, 2006 12:40 pm

Something fried my TP 600. Fortunately I have a backup TP 600. So I removed the 4 GB HD (with Win 98 ) from the broken machine and placed it in the backup machine.

Everything worked fine, until I tried to put back into the backup machine its original HD (with Win 2000). Now Win200 just hangs there during load-up.

Trying to re-boot in safe mode doesn't seem to help.

Although it's not a major issue, I would like to maintain functionality of the backup machine with its original Win 2000 HD.

I don't have the Win 2000 installation CDs, but I can boot the system in Win 98 from floppy.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

John

Go into EZSetup and intialize the machine with the old (original) HD in it.
