Vonage and wireless

#1 Post by side_kick » Sun Jun 18, 2006 10:08 pm

HI,
This is probably going to sound like a "blond Question"
I want to go wireless with my 600x, I was wondering if anybody has done this with vonage? In other words here is my configuration:

Desktop will be wired
600x wireless 802.11g
Linksys broadband router with 2/phone ports(the one vonage gives you)
(900 mhz Uniden cordless phone)

Questions is: Can I piggyback the wireless router off of my wired router ?

I know this is problably really a simple thing, I just dont want to go out and spend money on a router and card then not be able to use my vonage along with it. I called vonage but they tried to sell me a second phone line.

Also what wireless router is the best buy? Is there one router that I can run vonage and wireless?

I have always been a desktop girl until this cute little thinkpad made its way into my life :)

Thanks

Yes, you can, but I would go the other way. Connect the wireless router with your modem and the Vonage adapter to your router. If you have a program that requires adjustments to your router, you only have to configure one box.

IBM TP T41p (1.7G/1GB/100GB-7k100/DVD-CDRW/SXGA+/BT)
IBM TP T22 (900/512/40/DVD/CDRW/14")
IBM TP A31 (1.8GHz/512MB/40GB/DVD-CDRW/15" SXGA)
For sale: n/a
WTB: n/a
