SpeedStep Issues with 600E upgraded to PIII 650 MHz

#1 Post by harald612 » Mon Jun 19, 2006 8:34 am

Hello,

I installed a 650 MHz SpeedStep CPU in my 600E. It runs now with 500 MHz, because it is a none SpeedStep machine.

Is it possible to achieve the maximum CPU speed? There is a thread discussing this for 600X. Is this software mod also possible for 600E?

Thanks,

Harald

Very interesting thread. OK, there is only a hardware mod possible. It looks too difficult for me! Is there an easier way (software mod) to use the higher speed?

Why does the software mod works on a non SpeedStep 600X, and not on a 600E?

Thanks,

Harald
