"IBM ADF Color Scanner"

#1 Post by Jiro » Fri Jun 30, 2006 8:27 pm

Hi i found this scanner in a storage room in my house, that i never used in my entire life, so im not sure if it works. I googled around and looks as if you can feed 10 pages in this scanner at a time and it will automatically scan them. I thought this was much more practical than the flat-bed scanner i use right now.

I've been drawing more frequently these days ive been scanning more and more, and right now i use a conventional one, i guess you could say, which you must lift the cover and feed the papers one by one as you scan the next page. Now that i found this scanner maybe i can put it to use.

Here are some photos of the old "IBM ADF Color Scanner" i have found. It seems as if it has a propriotery card that goes with it. The scanners cable as well is proprietery, note as one pin is missing:

I really want to use this scanner, but i dont know how. It looks like its from the dark ages, the thing is sturdy and there is no power input so i think the power comes from the scanner's cable, which is neat. I was wondering if there was any way of getting this thing to work on my T41?

If not then i do not think its worth it building an old comp with ISA just for it.
