770 help ..... please

hi ,
im new to this board and i need some help/advice please , i have a ibm thinkpad 770 , recently i bought a dvd rom , which i installed and everything works , but when playing dvd's the pic freezes and doesn't keep up w/ the sound . the dvd player# is 11j8952 , my laptop has a pentium 233mhz processor , 128 megs of ram and a 4 gig hard drive i got the player off a website and it installed fine , is there anything else that could cause the pic to freeze and not play smoothly as the sound ? . i thought it was the pentium processor untill i see that other ppl are playing dvd's on a 233 mhz processor on ebay . any advice , help ect will be great,

Make sure that you have the DEVA board installed. The processor alone isn't capable of decoding the MPEG2 video stream quickly enough.
