390x won't get past POST

#1 Post by Pro547 » Fri Aug 04, 2006 12:11 pm

I have a 390x that won't get past the POST it just sits at the black screen that has thinkpad on the bottom left and the ibm in the top right. It won't let me get into the bios either.

Any ideas?

Maybe.

Do a BIOS update with a floppy booting from it.
X32/2.0GHZ/2GB/ENGENIUS EMP-8602+S 600mw mini pci/WD 250GB
X60/1.83GHZ/2GB/Atheros/7K100

Maybe, try reseating your ram. If that doesn't work, try removing one component at a time, until you can get it to boot completely.

I think I found out what is wrong... Its the keyboard because if I plug one in I can get it to boot like 1 out of 10 times I try.

Does anyone know if I can just disconnect the keyboard from the system board and use an external one?
