Where to find fast mmc-2 CPU's?

Older ThinkPads.. from the 600, the 7xx, the iSeries, 300, 500, the Transnote and, of course, the 701

#1 Post by danparkcityut » Sat Aug 14, 2004 4:46 pm

Might anyone have a suggestion where to look for 800 or 850 mhz mmc-2's?

Thanks in advance

You can find them on ebay, but note that due to speedstep you cant run them at full speeds on a 600 or 770. A 850MHz will run at 700MHz.

The best you can do is get a celeron that does NOT use speedstep, a 650MHz is the fastest one they made.

Dan,

I haven't seen anything faster than a PIII 700MHz for less than $100 on eBay in quite a while.

A quick check found several 750MHz for $119.99 BIN and an 850MHz at $147.50 with 20 hours remaining as I type this and one for $184.99 BIN.

Regards,
