I'm working on an old 390E that I found in a friend's closet... dont want to put way too much money into fixing it. It doesnt have memory or a hard drive, but I'd be willing to buy them if I knew I could get the machine to work. The question is, without RAM installed, should it still post or put anything on the screen to display? The lcd doesnt light up or display anything, and I shined a flashlight on it just in case it was the cold cathode.) My guess is that it wont, since there is no built in memory.
If I DO need Ram to get it to work, then does anyone have any cheap or free RAM that would work in the 390e? (SODIMM 144pin) I really dont care about the size, I just want to see if the laptop will post to bios.
390E... problems.
