My 770x battery indicator is blinking green, I just don't
understand this indication as all of my docs show no info
for this condition.

I know the following:

1. solid green is battery fully charged.
2. blinking orange is battery need charging.
3. solid orange - battery is charging.

Please help me , what is blinking green?

blinking green means it's almost charged. i've had a thinkpad keep blinking even when it wasn't charging, but it was just a glitch when returning from standby.

Are you sure it is your battery indicator light and not your suspend indicator light? Also, what does the LCD status panel indicate about your battery? (i.e. is it charging (arrow pointing to battery), discharging (arrow pointing away from battery), or doing nothing (no arrow beside battery).)?

On other ThinkPads you may get a blinking green battery indicator, but I don't recall seeing one on a 770 series -- maybe I just never noticed before.

Phil,

Thanks for the reply.

The green blinking light is definitely my battery indicator.

The LED shows 0% and a picture of battery 1. No arrow
no charging indicator.

This battery has been dormant for a long, long time. I
reckon they can go bad from lack of use. It does look
like a brand new battery though.

The blinking green indicator is what puzzles me as I did not
expect that.

i sold alphakilo a 765d with a "dead" battery that read 0%- he spent some time with it and it ended up being good for 2 hours, even though it was quite old.

Thanks,

I wonder what alphakilo did to get it going?

I will email him to try and get some info.

I actually didn't do anything with the 765D. I just let the battery sit for about 5 or so minutes while I went to get a drink and some food and when I returned the orange LED on top of the machine was solid orange (instead of the previous blinking orange) and the status LCD showed that the computer was, in fact, charging. I just got really lucky. Old batteries can be very "quirky" if they've been dormant for a long period of time.
