Motherboard swap.

#1 Post by Cheesemanx » Tue Aug 29, 2006 3:47 pm

Hey everyone. I have a 770ED as listed below. Fate (and one generous seller) has just handed me a larger hard drive than what I was originally looking for as a second hard drive. I figured why have the larger hard drive as the secondary when it would be better as the primary. I will be reinstalling the OS. So I figured now would be a good time to upgrade ED. I have found (by searching these hollowed halls) that the motherboard from a 770Z works great (no odd boot ups with not much tweaking, I hate the boot on keys function) with a PIII 500 or faster. I would like to put in a Z motherboard in my ED. What else besides the mobo and CPU need to be swapped out? Thanks.

I don't know anything about that computer, but if the CPU is upgraded from a 266 to a 500, the fan will certainly need to be changed.
