TP 600

I have a tP 600 with a 266 mhz proc.....can I put in a 300 or 333 mhz from a different 600 or even a 570.....if so do I have to do anything special, maybe a bios thing or something.

If the processor is a MMC-2 yes you can!

What is your machine type number?

I have two processors available one 333mhz and one 366mhz both PII MMC-2 if you are interested pm me. :)

600 take MMC-1 CPU's...

But yes, if you can get an MMC-1 PU from another 600 it will work..MMC-1's went up to 400Mhz, P2 only...NO CELERON!!

It's probably not worth upgrading to 300MHz, as the improvement would be so subtle.

Yeah, when upgrading 600's thats been my thought also. If you can upgrade to a MMC1 366 or 400 Mhhz CPU it's probably worth it. Anything lower wouldn't make enough difference.
