Hi,
I have a 600 thinkpad and it's a very ols machine and no one from my team know the BIOS password.I did some reading on net and there were 2 "possible" procedures were given.

1.drain the power and CMOS battery:
I did remove the main battery and also CMOS battery, left it for 15mins.But DID NOT short the battery connection.
Couldn't open (rather didn't try) the thinkpad completely to short certain jumpers mentioned in those articles.

2.Use KillCMOS.exe: but my TP doesn't boot from a floppy without the BIOS password.

We don't have anymore the support from IBM/Lenovo, and for the price of support, we might get a new PC!

Thanks in advance for any support, I'm desparate to get this working.I love this machine.

Welcome to the ThinkPads.com Forum!

Unfortunately, you will not find much help in getting rid of the BIOS (supervisor) password here, as explained in the ThinkPads.com FAQ:
ThinkPads.com FAQ wrote:12) Can you help me remove the BIOS/HDD password from this ThinkPad that I just bought/inherited/found/was given/stole/other?

Short answer: No.

Long answer: Cracking passwords is a highly charged subject that
reasonable people disagree over. Threads discussing it can be found starting at:
