Two hard drives?

I have a statement that I hope someone can disprove: You can only fit one hard drive into a 600E.
Has somebody fit two (Or even three) disks into a 600E? I guess the CD slot is just an IDE port, so you could theoretically make an adapter. Do such adapters exist already?

Two, without any other external adapters. I count the Ultrabay as an internal adapter.

Well, the UltraBay doesn't have the same connector as my boot hard drive. So either I need an adapter or a non-standard disk.

There is a Ultra Bay hard drive adapter that you can pick up relatively cheap on eBay. The hard drive fits right into it.
It looks like
this one. (Note: they can be had for less than the one in this auction)

That particular one is not right for 600E as it seems, but now I know what to look for, more or less. Thanks!

This is the proper one for the 600E/600X. The other one is for the Ultrabay 2000 not the Ultraslimbay.
eBay auction
(edit: DON'T buy this one if you don't have to. The one in tfflivemb2's post below is MUCH cheaper!)

Hereis the correct one.

The answer is simple. You need one of these:

The 600 series uses an "Ultraslimbay", NOT an ultrabay, or ultrabay 2000 or whatever it's called.

I went the cheap way out and bought a external drive enclosure that runs off the USB port. I mounted the 6GB drive in it when I upgraded the internal drive to a cheap 12GB drive. I've watched MPG movies from the external drive using the built-in USB port (1.1), so speed doesn't seem to be a problem.
I do have problems watching AVI movies, but have the same problem with the internal drive. The sound gets out of sync with the video after just a few minutes. Mine is a PII/233 with 288MB RAM, and I use PowerDVD 5.0. No problems with DVDs.

That's the software.

What I meant to ask before, also, but forgot, is whether you can use some sort of adapter to connect a regular IDE cable to the port?
Of course you would probably have to get +12V from another source, but that's my problem if I can find an adapter.
