760XL microphone problem

trying to do voice chat with my 760xl model. but when I use the windows microphone /equipment check mode it tell me there is a prolem "contact vendor" .I can do recording and playback using internal microphone ,but the laptop will not let me proceed with equipment set up for voice chat .Also it does not recognise an external microphone.Is there a disable internal mic controll ?
no errord in device manager ?
