Question about 390e memory

Can the 390e use the pc100?
What is the maximum I can use?

It seems to be cheaper to purchase the 128mb pc100 than the pc66 modules.

My 390e does not boot and after checking out some possibilities I found that these do not have ram built in and there are 2 empty slots

Your 390E has *zero* ram, it won't boot until you stick some ram in it. Try to find some 64Mb sticks locally, those are so plentiful, it's crime to pay for them. Most of our customers end up stuffing a pair of 256Mb sticks in them. Yes, you can use either 66/100, and luckily the right flavour of 133.

I live out in B.F.E.!! Not too many parts stores to find used ram :(

So it will accept 2 x 256mb pc100 sticks?

It does seem to be a bit dumb to pay the outrageous ebay prices for ram but I'm limited on options. There is only 1 computer store listed in the phone book here! So I'm stuck (or gettin' stuck, as I see it!).

Ebay is a great source for old PC100 ram. If you think Ebay ram prices are too high, perhaps you may rethink your priorities in where your ram money should go first (mortage, baby food, etc.)
