Last night I got in the antennae for my Actiontec card. I pretty much disassembled the entire display and routed them from the Actiontec card in the base to the rear of the LCD (the tabs were too big to fit behind the bezel at the front), following the LCD ribbon cable. Cosmetically, it turned out well, but performance-wise reception from my router isn't much better than when I had the smaller antennae stuffed in the slot with the card. Any thoughts on improving reception?

That mocel has a metal lcd cover?

In my 600X what i did was;

First time antennas in the mini pci compartment. ( poor signal )

Second time antennas bellow the keyboard. ( More signal than before but less tha my T40 )

Third time external antenna like the one Ray installed in his 600X's. ( Superb signal way better than my T40 )

Here is a picture of my 600X with external antenna:

I gave that solution some thought, but the mini-pci slot on the 600X is close to a corner of the laptop; with the Transnote, it's smack dab in the middle of the system, and there's the additional issue of not interfering with the portfolio case closing. I may open the case and play with the locations a bit more when I have time...

I have a pair of the hitachi antennas that are proven to be the best. sealed never used.

Exactly the same as this:

Hitachi high gain antennas

And they fit below the keyboard. :wink:

PM me if interested.

Carlos. :)
