560 and 765L Thinkpads

#1 Post by es21212 » Mon Aug 30, 2004 11:07 pm

I got a 560 and 765L Thinkpads both are P-166MHz. I 've trying to install a wireless PCMCIA card (D-Link DWL-G650 and the Cardbus adapter DFE-690TXD (both are 32 bits) and no luck. I got a yellow check mark under system and ask me to asign a IRQ...? I tried a new IRQ but still it does not work.
Should I go in the Bios and set it or what should I do?
I think these laptops only accept 16 bit cards and will not take any 32 bit cards.

Any suggestions?
Thanks for your time!
Henry

The 560 and 560E did not support cardbus. The 560X and Z did. So did the 765L.

You have to install the thinkpad configuration program, and assign an IRQ for cardbus in that program. Make sure you're using an operating system that your wireless card says is supported.
