ThinkPad 600 Screen Blanks Out

The screen on my 600 (model 2645-41U) blanks out periodically. I can usually get it to come back to life by pressing Fn+F7 a few times. When the screen is on, it looks very good.

Doing some research on the web, it seems like this is an inverter problem. Does that sound correct to you all?

Thanks much for the help! :D

Sorry I missed this post yesterday...

Generally, if when the screen goes black but yet you can still see an image on the display by shining a bright light on it at an angle, then, yes, the inverter is usually the problem. There can be other things that may switch off your LCD (bad connections, motherboard issues, etc.) but if you are just losing the backlight, then I would try replacing the inverter. They are about $10-$20 on eBay, probably cheaper here in the Marketplace if you can find someone with a spare one.

So was the problem resolved or are you still having problems?
