Power supply recall

#1 Post by bigbill » Thu Sep 02, 2004 8:34 pm

This was on Reuters today, haven't seen anything on the IBM site. Power supply p/n 02K6549 for fire and shock hazards. This was used on 390, 240, i series and some s series.

I just posted that information here: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=3404 The second item has a link to IBM's website that explains how to determine if you have one of the affected adapters and how to get a free replacement.

Here is a link for an article describing the recall. For older machines from 1999 to 2000.

Here's the IBM link:

[Sorry for starting a new topic on this.]

You can order a new one on line and IBM suggests you not leave it plugged in unattended in the mean time.
