About MMC-2 CPU

My TP is 600E seria2645-55C,the CPU's speed is P2-300Mhz,the L2 cahce is512K/half speed,I don't konw that can I change this CPU to MMC2-P3-500Mhz CPU?thanks.[/b]

yea, you can upgrade to a p3-500 or a celeron2-650... both are as high as you can go without speedstep, which your BIOS doesn't support. If you have money to blow you can buy a p3-850, but it will only run at 700MHz.

Make sure your bios is up to date, p3-support wasn't in some earlier bios's

Keep an eye on the CPU and Hand-disk temperature if you upgrade! I had problems with that I came back to a PII-400. Run faster than a PII-300 and run cool.

I havent had any problems, and i have a celeron-2 650 and a 7200rpm harddrive in mine.
