I know you guys have no respect for the 560's but I
love mine. I have had a bad experiences buying a 'refurbished' battery for my 600e . Are there any genuine 'New' batteries around for these legacy TPs ? Or are they all new old stock thats as old as my 560 ?
I am fearfull of buying one for $50 on eBay that will only last for 4 months.
Any advice ? Thanks lots !

Chris.

Thanks ! I had searched before I came here. Prices range from
$20 to $108 without any seriously reassuring description.
I no longer believe that because something is more expensive that its better. Have you bought a battery for an old laptop r3cently?
Is it still Ok ? (I will seach Kahlon )

Thanks !

EDIT- Kahlon looks serious. $65 .

I love the 560s....or any Thinkpad for that matter.

Try looking into www.batteryrefill.com I haven't used them myself, but I know that quite a few members have.

Inexpensive USB flash drives have overcome the 560's major negative of not having a CD drive. All W98 cab files are on C:
The PCMCIA slot accepts modern wireless cards , leaving the just OK video as the weakest feature.
The cpu, & 64 mb ram etc keeps up quite well with database, spreadsheets, correspondence, emails, internet, usage.
It is a very small, and light notebook that I am irrationally
attached to in our disposable society.

Kahlon appears to have a pretty good reputation. FWIW, I bought the memory for my 365x from them... a very good price & it works perfectly.

How can you tolerate the 800x600 screen? I've always wanted to play with (though not own) its successor, the 570, though.
