Getting into bios

How do i get into my bios, THinkpad 600 running under Windows nt. Tried f1 and got into an easy setup thing f2 gave me an error and the delete key gave me an error. Also how to i get it to boot from the cdrom?

Ah, the "easy setup thing" IS the BIOS. What are you trying to do, just boot from the CD? If that's the case, here's the procedure:

Once you have entered the Easy Setup screen, click on the Start up icon. Then click on the Power-on icon. You should see a screen that has icons for the various drives/resources you can boot from. At the top of the screen, labelled 1,2,3,4 are the current assignments. Press the Reset icon at the right and those four entries are cleared. You can then click on each icon. The first one you click is the first drive that is searched on bootup. When the order is what you want, click on the OK button. Then click the Exit button, then the Restart button.

Ok when i do this what is the best way for it to run from the cd? ive tried to cdrom floppy then hard drive but it didnt boot from the [cdrom. Also is there any way to remove the admin password, the guy i bought it from said he accidentally turned it on.[/code]

If you access the Startup menu as outlined in my last post and was able to clear and re-define the boot startup order with the CDROM drive in position #1, then the system should be able to boot from the CD. That's also assuming that the CD you have IS bootable.

To answer your second question, are you talking about the Windows NT Administrator password?

yes, i have forgotten it. I cant login, what im trying to do right now is run a password recovery program from the cd so i can get it back but its not working, maybe i need to find a better program. know any?
