can i see divx media on my 760ed with hardware mpeg accelerator? what kind of sw i need have? i have 64 mb of ram and win95

DivX needs Windows 98 or higher. Can you put Windows 98 on your 760? I used to have 98 on my 760E and it run pretty well.

what run good on your machine? win98 or divx? because i installed win98se and it run good but tp was too slow; i installed playa player,divx codec and xvid codec but medias go too slow.....
so wath means "ENANCHED VIDEO.....MPEG ACCELERATOR" if it can't see divx? and.....can i use ibm videocd payer that i have download from ibm support page?
last question.......what kind of diretx i need?

What are you trying to accomplish?

A 760ED has a 133 MHz processor (and some even had 120 MHz) so it is pretty slow for playing DVD's. Even with a 300 processor in my 770X I had some DVD skips.

Windows 98 ran pretty nicely in my 760E (when I had it), but I had to download a special Direct-X supplement (available from Microsoft) since the processor does not have MMX extensions built-in like the 166's and later.

No. The hardware mgeg accelerator, depending on the version will help with mpeg 1 or mpeg 2 video. For example the Margi PCMCIA card enables a P133 to play mpeg 2 pretty well. But there is no similar device to assist mpeg4 which uses a more cpu intensive algorithm. I doubt there will be such a thing, because newer computers can do the mpeg4 in software.

divx files use a slightly modified mpeg4 algorithm. Divx say the algorithm is fully compliant, but others disagree. It does not matter for the purposes of your question, because it is close enough

Howdy,
If you are talking about a video cd, the video is encoded as an mpeg1 video at a resolution of about 352 by 240. It varies a bit depending whether it is PAL or NTSC, but it does not vary by much. A video CD is usually about an hour per CD, so movies are usually broken into 2 cds. A divx that would filll a CD could contain the whole movie. When I want to capture a VCR tape I have home recorded, I encode divx movies of up to 2 and a half hours onto a single cd, although the resolution drops more than I would like on these longer lengths. The resolution is just about always better than a video CD and usually much higher.You can transcode a divx to an mpeg1, but you lose some quality when you do this. If your goal is to be able to watch the video on a 760, you have no choice. Look for transcoding tools. I am guessing you run Windows, so I can't help you with the tools, but a little googling should turn something up.

p.s., There are videl CDs that are mpeg 2. They are all at a fixed resolution of 480 by 480 and loog much better than plain video cds. They are called SVCDs, for Super Video CD. They problem with them is that there are no free mpeg2 encoders. There is one that works well and can be downloaded for a 30 day trial.. Look around and you will probably have to buy a program to do mpeg2, if you decide you need it.
