upgrade CPU on 770X

#1 Post by cspgsl » Fri Feb 02, 2007 2:24 pm

Can anyone tell me if I can pull the CPU from either an A21 (2628-GTU) or an I1300 (1171-9XU) and install it in the 770X?
If one knew it would save me pulling the machines apart to find out.
Thanks in advance

The answer on both accounts it no.

The 770X series uses a MMC-2 CPU, which is card style processor that is about 3" x 1.5"

The A2x series uses a small 1.5" x 1.5" processor. (I don't know the name of the type of processor off of the top of my head)

The I series processors are similar to the A2x series, but are generally soldered to the system board.
