Okay so i just got my new cmos(Cr2025) from atbatt for $14. My thinkpad has no battery so if i unpluged it would shut off. Would that hurt the cmos battery? Mean like if i unplugged the power cord from the laptop then plugged it in and turned it on would i get my errors again( 161, 163, 192)?

running this 600e off wall power (no main battery) accidental unplug==immediate
shutdown, with no harm to CMOS battery. I'd say you'll be OK.
(can't say whether you'll get the errors.)

The 161/163/192 errors will go away after you have installed the CMOS battery and reset the date and time. That's assuming the battery is good, properly installed and that there are no other problems with your laptop

. There is not harm in plugging the CMOS battery into the laptop, with or without the AC adapter plugged in, although you should probably follow the directions as outlined in the maintenance manual (remove AC adapter, remove main battery, remove all other cables). Similarly, there is no harm done if the CMOS battery is installed in the system and you remove all other power sources. In fact, that's why there's a CMOS battery in the first place. It provides power to keep the internal real-time clock (RTC) running if you remove the AC adapter and main battery.
