If it's any help, my experience has been that the fuses are probably good and that one (or more) of the integrated circuits have blown first (protecting the fuse
).
If you can open it up, check the fuses with a multimeter, visually inspect all parts for any obvious signs of damage, and if seeing none, try to use an adapter set at the proper voltage and see if the laptop returns to life. There are many possibilities of damage. I would say that most of the removable components (CPU, memory, any other daugther cards) are probably okay. With major overvoltages, the problem is usually a part on the motherboard.

Nothing happens.
I have another 770Z working. I am going to test board by board on the one that is working. Any suggestion accepted!

Re: 770Z Fried
This is the right idea. Change swap each part into the working unit to see what parts are bad. It's possible that two parts are bad. You will figure our which faster swapping one at a time into a working system.elportugues wrote:Nothing happens.

Re: 770Z Fried
Now i remember one thing, when i first replace the 366mhz cpu from my 770Z with a 500mhz when i started the lappy it was just running the fan nothing else, the problem was that the cpu wasn't seated correctly i remove it pressed it a little harder and problem solved! It may not be your case but..who knows?elportugues wrote:Nothing happens.
