600 bios acting up

#1 Post by Kyocera » Tue Feb 27, 2007 7:17 pm

One of my friends 600's was giving him some wierd LCD issues at bootup, he said it turned bright green and he had to reboot a couple of times, I checked event viewer and saw a couple of system errors relating to RAM. I know he bought some ram from a company called katin or something like that.

Anyway I went into bios to try and run the system check and whenever I would click on something it would just lock up. I removed all the ram and tried again several times still same result. Once I got it to start the system configuration check but it locked up checking the ram.

Any thoughts?

Does it lock it you run the test with ALL of the ram removed? Since there is 32mb on board, you can still run the test without the added sticks.

Possibly Kahlon?

How about disabling the onboard memory and trying just one of the modules?
