The answer depends upon what kind of extra hardware you have or need. I'm assuming that you have been using dial-up, or in other words, plugging a telephone cable into the side of the 600X. What you are using is a built-in modem to connect to your internet service provider (ISP). When you change over to DSL you are still using the same phone line to communicate but you need different hardware. At the minimum, you need to connect a DSL modem to the phone line and then plug your computer(s) into that box. Most of today's DSL modems are combination modem/routers. Which means to say that they have ethernet ports (aka RJ-45) in which you can connect multiple computers using an ethernet cable. Some are wireless routers. In that case you would use a wireless card in your computer to connect to the DSL box. In either case, your 600X cannot do those things without extra hardware. If you are trying to set this up by yourself, there are several things that need to be configured correctly before it works. My suggestion would be to contact Verizon and see if they offer free installation and setup of at least one computer for you.

Hi
I have the CD that l ws sent when l hooked up my pc at home to DSL.
My laptop will be used in my office in another location. I can live with dial up but the DSL line is currently hooked up to an office pc.
The guy who has the DSL line is leaving and the DSL is staying so l thought l might as well hook up to it if possible. I have the DSL stuff to do it.

If you have the hardware to physically connect the DSL line to the PC, it's just a matter of configuration.
Being a DSL user, I can say with honesty that it isn't hard to set up.
1.) What is your OS?
2.) How will the DSL cable connect to the laptop?

Common sense to some of us is unfortunately the higher education others strive to attain.

Supersecret eBay searching techniques follow!
Try this for your search:
"pcmcia lan -wireless -wifi 3com"
The "-" signs exclude items that include those words. I added 3com to the end, but you don't have to.
