Cpu for 600

Hey i found a cpu for cheap, its a 1 Intel Celeron 300mhz Slot 1 processor. Is this the cpu i need to upgrade my little lappy?

Checkout the 600 upgrade sticky, but I think you want a MMC-1 package. Isn't slot 1 for a desktop motherboard? You could also try the Intel processor spec finder. http://processorfinder.intel.com/

I recently upgraded my TP600 to a 400mhz CPU. But they are hard to find and expensive. I paid too much, but I bought it before I had a chance to research more.

You can buy a used one from a system pull for very cheap. The 600's came with up to a 300mhz CPU, so if you can find one of those, it will probably be under $20. Just do a search on E-bay. As already stated, it has to be MMC1.
