100MHz fsb mod w/ 366MHz MMC2 P-II and 600e?

Hi, I'm new to this forum and i was wondering if i would be able to use that pin mod in the official upgrade sticky to change the fsb to 100MHz, while keeping the Pentium II chip, as this would give me a 550MHz CPU w/o having to buy a P-III.

In other words, what issues would i have to deal with to make this work? i.e. heat, pci clocks going out of spec, etc.

Thanks
Mike

It simply won"t work, did you read this thread?

IBM Thinkpad 600E bios mod for processor update

You will need a PIII they are easy to find and cheap on ebay.

The MMC-2 PII CPUs will simply not go to 100MHz FSB. They were designed only to run at 66 Mhz.

it will only post @550+not go further
conversely it will run ok with a modded(depending on quality) p11 300 cpu to 450/100 speeds,no bios mods needed
don't waste you time with 366 cpu because i tried on a few
333 maybe,maybe not.
to modify the p11 cpu to run 100 fsb you need to look on the pin side of the mmc2 cpu ,approx half way you will see r71+r73
resistor locations,66fsb=r73,100fsb=r71
swapping the resistor from r73 to r71 location will do the trick
