600E BIOS Start Up Menu

#1 Post by azmckee » Sat Sep 25, 2004 9:31 pm

In the Bios Start-Up menu there is room for four (4) items; usually HDD, Floppy, CD-ROM and another item. Is there any particular order they should be in? or do I just need the HDD in the first slot and all else gets recognized by the O/S later.

it depends on what you wanna boot from.

in case you always boot from your hdd its ok to just have that in the bootorder.

the bootorder is the order the Bios looks for bootable devices.
f.e.
you sometimes boot from a cd and mostly from the hdd you put them in order like: 1. cd 2. hdd
so the bios looks 1. for a cd, if there is no bootable it looks for a bootable hdd ;) thats all

cheers
