Start Menu (?) and Opening the Bios (?)

Older ThinkPads.. from the 600, the 7xx, the iSeries, 300, 500, the Transnote and, of course, the 701

Start Menu (?) and Opening the Bios (?)

#1 Post by DoctorBill » Sat Mar 31, 2007 12:18 am

Two questions for a new Thinkpad owner of an old machine.

Bought it in a garage sale.

Bought a new battery at Batteryrefill.com.

Just formatted the 3 GB HD.

1. How does one get to the BIOS on a 760XD ?

......what is recommended as BIOS settings?

2. Is there some Thinkpad equivalent to the Start Button on new machines?

Start here. Then either change the settings to match your Thinkpad, or press the "Detect my system" link.

Once your product and operating system are correct, you can then scroll thru the list or refine the search...

That Lenovo is an interesting site.....

Couldn't find my ThinkPad's Manual listed there.

I will go thru the site.

Found the manual in 765tref.pdf in the Index of /pccbbs in the first
sticky note at the beginning of this forum!

The bbs site has many (?) drivers and (?) listed for the 760XD.

spsdhx58.exe
uttp1w98.exe
uttpfdos.exe
uttpfper.exe
uttpperd.exe
vftpgw95.exe
w98sfdi.exe
w98sfdi.exe

Is all that stuff necessary to load onto the 760XD or would it be
covered in Windows 98 Second Edition's CD loadup...?

BTW - thanks a lot for that bbs site.....!
