600x video issue

I have a thinkpad 600x with intermitent color video issue. The laptop boots fine. After it runs about 5-10 minutes, the color on the lcd changes. I have tried another lcd and inverterboard, the same results. I wondered if it is the video chip is going bad on the motherboard. Any help would be appreciated.

I would say try using PC Doctor's Video test to see if there is a problem with the video memory. I think the version for the 600X tests the video memory like it does for my A31, which has a similar issue. As it sounds like you have eliminated the LCD panel as the cause, that would be my next step. Although, if you replaced the panel without also changing the ribbon cable, then you may want to look at that too.
A problem which occurs after a certain length of time is usually due to a temperature shift. It's possible that there is a marginal connection of one (or more) components on the motherboard.
