PIII on a 560Z?

I have a Pentium II 560 Z TP. Think the model # is 2640-90U (from memory). Got 96 mb ram and I am running XP and Office 2003 on it.

It's a little slow but it runs fine for my needs.

A neighbor threw his Pentium III desktop in the trash. So I grabbed it (I need a power supply for the new desktop I'm building). Seems the motherboard is messed up since it just beeps on power-on and the other video card I put in didn't change it.

I'm wondering if I can extract the Pentium III chip off the card that it sits on inside this machine and swap it for the P II in my Thinkpad. It's probably only a 500 MHz chip but still that would be a significant boost (233 in there now).

Or am I just dreaming...

Don't fight with him just update your location with the real location.

And looking at the page 61 of the HMM for you 560Z it says the machine has a mini cpu board that doesn't look like any desktop processor.[/url]
