570E LCD Disassembly Info

Does anyone know of a source of info on taking apart an LCD panel from a 570E?

I want to add wireless antennas behind the LCD, have gotten as far as taking the bezel off, and the two large screws holding the LCD frame in, but it wouldn't come out easily at that point so I stopped not wanting to hose my LCD panel.

I don't need to disassemble the panel itself, just remove it from the frame to gain access in installing the antennae.

Have searched IBM, but they really only show parts diagrams, and not a step by step on assembly. The HMM has precious little on the LCD screens.

Thanks for any feedback you can give. Taking apart an LCD panel is a first for me.

After much patience, and about three attempts, I finally was successful in disassembling the LCD panel to install the antennas, and of course they didn't work!

Tried three different areas behind the LCD panel, but the plastic must be too much of a barrier. I have orderd an SMB antenna and pigtail from eBay, and next project is to install the external antenna through the modem port.

I thought before I did all that I would solicit comments from those that might have installed antennas under the palm rest, wouldn't that plastic be just as much of a barrier as the lid?

Any other experiences in placing antennas in areas other than the LCD??

Thanks in advance for your comments!
