600X (2645 9FA) 'Base Cover' Wanted... Aus.

#1 Post by Robin Mutoid » Wed Apr 25, 2007 1:10 pm

Hi.. I just got a cheap 650Mhz P111 600X (to 'upgrade' my 600 with). The case and screen are badly smashed otherwise all is working perfectly. Of course I then discovered 600x internals do NOT go into 600 cases!! Help.. anyone got an intact lower case/housing that they dont want? Thanks, Robin. <robinmutoid@robowars.org>

Thanks 'unrortit'... I know my replacement base cover is on it's way.

'Case Closed'!

By the way thanks also for all the other genius knowledge you have so generously imparted throughout the course of this transaction. You really know your stuff!

Robin.

just for others posed the same problem: I can assure you that a 600X board WILL fit in a 600E chassis. I know this, 'cos I'm usin' one o' thais beasties roight naow.

(yes the non-minipci-access is annoying, and yes there are certain creative liberties taken with the area surrounding the audio ports, but all in all it fits a fair treat)
go away.

X into 600/E...

#5 Post by Robin Mutoid » Fri May 04, 2007 7:28 am

Yeah 'tarvoke' good to hear. That's an 'E' you've got, but what about the straight 600?

Looks like the 'X' is recessed out on the base; same with the 'E'? Few more outlet slots from the cooling fan too!

This way though I get to keep the 600 alive as well!!

Next step = 850Mhz + DVD :D
