365X PCMCIA Flash Card boot

About a month ago i purchased a 365x without a harddisk. The only spare i had was a 12GB one, so it won't boot from it. Not a problem with linux, i just boot up the kernel from a floppy and once done, it sees and uses the whole 12gig drive. It's all fun and games, just a bit slow.
According to the bios, this box can boot from a pcmcia device. I recently found a 2MB pcmcia flash card for sale (SMART Modular Technologies 2MB Flash Card SM9FCSC2M001). Any ideas if the system can use this card to boot up? AFAIK linux supports the card, so once the bios boots it up, it should be fine.

try grub boot loader, which seems could cure the bios hard drive size limit.

Be sure to install grub on MBR. My 760 and 701 can boot from 20G HD and run debian sarge/woody happily.

The 365X can boot from that hard drive.

Just make a small (120MB or so) /boot partition that is entirely in the first 8GB of the drive, and be sure to partition the drive in the ThinkPad itself.

OK, so the magic word was the MBR. Somehow i completely forgot that, and always installed grub on (hd0,0)...
Thanks for the tip guys, i just have a nice little machine that can see active use!
And last week i also managed to pick up a 64mb ram module for around 75 cents...
