Hey everyone, I just acquired a 770, 288 megs of ram, fresh install of win2k, it has a dvd drive, and it also has the *rare* advanced DVD playback module, I have the drivers installed.. now heres what I'm wondering..what should I use for "player" software, I tried windvd plat. didn't work out to well..What is everyone using on win2k for DVD? Also can someone tell me a bit more about this playback card, would I preclude the use of it if I bought a PCMCIA decoder card?
Thanks, Josh

I know there is a specific way you have to install that DVD decoder drivers (user JHEM i think knows it) then you can use Windows Media Player to watch movies. I use PowerDvd on my pII 400 and it's fine. My PII 300 with DVA (Mpeg decoder card) gets jumpy with PowerDvd, but plays fine with Windows Media Player.
I think the original DVD Player that came with the 770 series was DVD Express.

Once you install the mpeg feature drivers for 2000 from the ibm site, you can just use windows media player to watch DVD's.....It will actually put a DVD Player link in the Start>Entertainment folder, that just opens WMP to play it....
Same goes for XP.....just use the 2000 drivers, works fine...
