I have a Thinkpad 600e model 2645-4AU. I'm wondering if the ultraslimbay is interchangeable with other Thinkpad models and series. The reason I'm wondering this is if I ever decide to upgrade to a newer thinkpad I'd like to know if my ultraslimbay components would be interchangable with it. Anyone have any idea?

All 600 series Ultraslimbay devices are usable in the 600, 600E and 600X.
With the removal of a shim on the bottom of most of the devices they can also be used in the 570 series Ultrabase.
That's all f-f-f-folks!

James

The 600E floppy drive/caddy will work off the port replicator and port replicator II for later computers that don't have the floppy plug built in.

IBM says the UltraSlimBay battery will not work in the 600. I've never had a 600, but that battery works great in the 600E and 600X.

I just purchased a used ultraslimbay battery for my 600e, and between the two batteries I'm getting about 7 hours of battery life. That's not too shabby!
