I don't know but I've been curious about this unusual 1280x1024 LCD. Is the width-to-height ratio 5:4? Would you mind measuring the dimensions for us?

No, the T series doesn't support the LCD. As for size, I believe the 770's SXGA screen is 13.7".

Right, but that says nothing about the aspect ratio.

My math says that 1280x1024 is 5:4 aspect ratio (1.25).

(edit: This is assuming square pixels)

Apart from any graphics controller issues, I think you will be out of luck because the 13.7" display will simply not fit physically into your T21.

Even if you were willing to accept that the vertical edges of the panel are exposed by the bezel, the bezel would also cover a little bit (0.1") of the top/bottom of the panel display area. I think you would have to essentially fabricate a custom display bezel to physically fit the 13.7" panel into the T21.

Yep, that's exactly what I was asking and I apologize for not being clear enough. Many 4:3 monitors support 1280x1024 by using non-square pixels. I want to know if the OP's 770X LCD is one of those.

Ok, I've just tried replacing the LCD's.
I have a working 770X with 13.7" 1280x1024 lcd
and I also have dead 770 with good 14.1" 1024x767 lcd.
I Have tried putting both of them in my main T21.
The Connectors (data cable connector and cathode lamp connector)
are absolutely the same. But It doesn't work. Only The flurascent lamps turns on, but no picture :-(
BTW, the 1280x1024 lcd is REALLY thin, while 1024x768 LCD from 770 - is really fat.
Reguarding the dimensions: I've made a screenshots of measuring the exact view area. See here.

1280 screen is just excellent. You get a TONS of information on the screen, be it office sheet, or internet. It lightyears better than 1024.

BTW, if anybody has a 770 - with 300 or 266mhz cpu.
- If you into watching video - just grab the TCPMP player.
It can easily play even the largest video files (720x576 Xvid@2500kbps). Regular 700mb .avi movies eat hardly 40% of cpu.
Of course there is some mpeg hardware decoding card (which doesn't help in case of Mpeg-4 (divx/xvid)
If there are some video hobbyists among you - I was able to play even H.264 (aka AVC) videos with reasonable results.

Thanks so much! 26.8cm / 21.4cm = 1.25, i.e. 5:4!
