Oh what abuse of a poor old Thinkpad! Vista on a Thinkpad 570, 366MHz Pentium II w/192MB RAM, 6GB HD.
Boot time = 4min 40sec.

It feels quite a bit slower and draggier than the 500MHz 570e did. I didn't know CPU speed would make that much difference, although I think the HD is slower too.

Conclusion: Don't run Vista on a 570!

Of course, I reverted it back to XP SP2 and all is well. :lol:

Reminds me of running Win XP Pro on my Thinkpad 240 with 366MHz Celeron, 80MB RAM and a 6GB HDD!

The slower bus speed probably has more of an effect than the slower clock speed.
