#1 Post by SUSIEJO » Sun Jun 10, 2007 1:55 am

Will PC133 work in a TP 600e (2645-4au) or does it have to be PC100?

Edit: Will this work:

MICRON memory - 256 MB - SO DIMM 144-pin - SDRAM

pc 100 CL2

MT16LSSDF3264HG
IBM Thinkpad 600E
2645-4BU
40 GB HD
544 MB RAM
Win XP Pro.
dvd-rom
I LOVE MY THINKPAD!!!

I can confirm that a pair of 256MB Micron MT16LSDF3264HG-133E4 (PC133 CL3) is working in one of my 600E systems (2645-4BU). As long as the modules are "low density" (i.e., 16 chips for 256MB or 8 chips for 128MB), then it should work.

Note: I have found (or rather, a couple of members here have had modules) that had problems working when everything says that they should have been fine. This was due to a mis-programming of the SPD (serial presence detect) bits on a separate memory chip on the module. It would be a rare case that this would affect you, but it can happen.
