ThinkPad 600 Help

#1 Post by n1nj4Lo » Thu Jun 21, 2007 8:00 pm

Okay I've been trying to install a new(old) o.s. on this, But can't remember which I f-key I strike to get to the boot menu and boot from cd....

Luckly I got Windows Neptune to install over XP which my friend/the previous owner had installed on it... I'm actually enjoying Windows Neptune, Better than 2000 or 98se and more secure and stable then ME, Also very compatible with various drivers and installed drivers for everything on my ThinkPad 600 all the way up to my PCIMA IBM Network/Dial-Up Access Card...

Download Windows Neptune for yourself?

I'd be interested to hear your impressions of Neptune. My understanding is that it is an unfinished WinNT for home users. As a former NT user with lots of experience with win9x and winxp, I think, "Yuk!"

LOL.

For me, WinXp is the right OS of a 600 class machine with sufficient cpu and ram. Why would you remove that for NT?

I couldn't ever get the sound card to work for it, So I felt as if I were s.o.l. so I rolled back an OS.... Couldn't find them on IBM for the Model I had or anything, Maybe I was looking in all the wrong places...

Sorry bout the late reply...

Interesting, I have installed XP on many 600/600Es, and never had a problem with the sound drivers...
