Kinda an odd question but I recently bought another (1st gen) Shuffle due to mine finally croaking. My question is that if it will charge on my 600 by simply pluging it in the usb port? Ive heard that i wouldt because on an older version usb port like 1.1 and it needs 2.1 to work. Thanks

USB is backwardly compatible. On Win XP you get a little warning box saying that the device you plugged in will function faster under USB 2.0 (or something to that effect.)
Also How did you get USB working under NT? - your Tag line says a 600 running NT....

Well, Windows 2000 Professional is the better, faster, and much more stable successor to Windows NT-but it is not Windows NT. So don't feel stupid-just be glad it came with Windows 2000 Pro instead!

Actually, before Microsoft came up with the name Windows 2000 sometime in 1998, the OS was called Windows NT 5. However, Windows 2000 is arguably much better than it's predecessor, Windows NT 4.
