No Sound TP 600E

#1 Post by SUSIEJO » Mon Jun 25, 2007 9:09 pm

I recently reinstalled Win 98se on a TP 600E but the sound wasn't working. I uninstalled the crystal codec thing and rebooted, then followed IBM's instructions for installing the audio drivers but it still isn't working. Actually I've done that about 3 times.
Does anyone have any suggestions about how to fix it? Even if I need to download a different driver. This is the driver you get when you go the the ibm/lenovo site and follow the links.

Have you:

1. Checked that the volume isn't muted?
2. Tried plugging headphones into the sound out to see if you can hear anything?

Thanks for the help. I finally got the sound working. When it starts back up and says its updating the drivers you have to go to the area where you tell it what driver to install, not let it pick the best driver for you. I was allowing the computer to locate the driver.
Oh well. live and learn.
