Looking for a schematic of the 600X PCB

Looking for a schematic of the 600X PCB

#1 Post by BillG » Mon Jul 02, 2007 2:44 pm

I'm a hardware engineer. I'm looking for a circuit board schematic of the IBM 600X printed circuit board (no, it is not in the hardware maintenance manual).

I'm also looking for a schematic of the Intel MMC-2 (yes, I've got the spec, but not the schematic).

I'm investigating improving the performance of the 600X, by increasing the CPU clock speed (but not that of the PCI bus) and possibly also by jumping the memory controller to allow for more RAM.

I'm not that concerned about the RAM, because running Windows 2000 with 576M RAM I always seem to have at least 100M of RAM left. But I'd really like to see if I can tweak the 600X CPU speed.

I may be able to get the 600X to SAFELY run at 1.06GHz. I *might* be able to get it to run as fast as 1.2GHz.

Of course, I'll share my findings. But if anyone has a schematic, or knows where I can find one, please let me know?

-Bill.
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed, or numbered!

If you do find this "holy grail", please let me know too. I've been trying different avenues for ANY Thinkpad schematics and have not been successful.
