Configuring Thinkpad Parallel Port

#1 Post by CDobyns » Sat Jul 07, 2007 9:27 pm

I want to ensure that the parallel port on my Thinkpad 600E has been configured from just a basic LPT port to an ECP parallel port. I thought that would be configured through the BIOS setup (which it is on my current desktop computer).

I go into my Thinkpad BIOS, but I don't see anywhere to make that configuration change, or any of the seemingly endless other configuration changes that are typically possible (not that I know what most of them are anyway). Where and or how (or even if) do you change that configuration on a Thinkpad 600E?

Parallel Port Configuring.....

Are you using a 'Windows' OS?

If so get onto the IBM/Lenovo website and depending upon your model and OS, dowload and install the the correct version of the 'Thinkpad Configuration Utility'. In there is a tab that allows you to set up the port via the OS as Bi-directional, ECP, EPP or Uni-directional. Enjoy!!
