Hi, as you can see in my signature I have an i1400 2611-451 PII (i think) 300mhz, and a 13.3" LCD. I was wondering if a 14.1" from the 2611 series would work? My brother has a 2621 that he upgraded to 14.1", and he didn't order his LCD model specific, just 2621 specific. The particular LCD i'm looking at came on series 1400/1500, machines type 2611 - 412, 452, 456, 472, 40x, 47F, 476, 43x (excluding 434 and 435), 496, 512, and 552. I may be wishful thinking, but I would love to make this happen. Any and all coments, and suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,
Justin Payne

Well, for those of you just browsing i'll add some food for thought (maybe provoke some replies). If you check IBM's website under Parts Information for the 2611-451 and 2611-452, you'll see that they both used the same 12.1" LCD(takes a little digging to notice). This info leads me to believe that the mainboard LCD outputs for these machines are wired the same. I think that the 14" LCD unit will work with my -451, the worst scenario being that I may also need the LVDS board for the 14" LCD. Anyone care to share any thoughts?
Thanks,
Justin

P.S. If anyone cares to research the info I gave above, notice that the FPC cables for the 12" LCD's (A) are the same FRU # for the -451 and -452 (had to pay close attention and do a little digging to notice this), and (2) both 12" FPC cables appear to plug directly into the mainboard without an LVDS board.

It works!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to update if anyone cares, I purchased a 14.1" LCD complete assy. with the LVDS board from a 2611-452, and it worked just fine on my 2611-451. I guess there are more of these parts that are interchangeable than I thought.
